Truck:
New Peterbilt Model 357 (6x6) equipped with a Caterpillar Model C-15 diesel engine rated at 475 horsepower@ 2100 RPM. Jake Brake, 247" wheelbase, 158" cab to axle, 22,000 lb. rated front steer drive axle and a tandem rear drive axle with a 46,000-lb. rating. 18-speed transmission. Two (2) 315/65R22.5 front tires mounted on 22.5 x 13 Alcoa aluminum wheels. Four (4) 20-ply 445/65R22.5 Super Single rear tires mounted on 22.5 x 13 Alcoa aluminum wheels. One (I) 70-gallon aluminum fuel tank and one (I) ISO-gallon aluminum fuel tank. Additional standard equipment includes reinforced frame, air brakes, 12 volt electrical system, 115-Volt engine heater and batteries blanket, power steering, dual 16" x 7" rear view heated mirrors along with 8" convex mirrors, exterior stainless steel sunvisor, heater, defroster, air conditioning, passenger seat, hourmeter, back-up alarm, hubometer, fire extinguisher, flares, and two rear tow hooks and front tow loop. Spare tire and wheel, one (1) each size.
Main Frame:
Structural steel construction and electrically welded with mast rest and hinge post being integral part of the structure. The full width driller's and helper's platforms hinge upward during transit, while the center portion is removable. Side driller and side helper's platforms included. The structure includes hydraulic jack mountings and all necessary items for mounting to truck.
Hydraulic Leveling Jacks:
Four(4) leveling jacks are mounted to level the rig. Two (2) 48 in. (1,219 mm) stroke jacks are mounted in the front just behind the truck cab. Two (2) 36 in. (914 mm) stroke jacks are
mounted in the rear. All jacks are individually controlled with lock checks to prevent leak-off. Swivel base plates are also provided for each jack.
Main Hydraulics:
Consists of large 95 gallon (360 L) oil supply tank, oil level / temperature gauge, oil cooler,
hydraulic pumps, filters with maintenance indicators, control valves, cylinders, and all necessary piping.
Tophead Rotary:
Hydrostatically powered tophead rotary with an infinitely controlled rotation speed of O to 120 RPM and a maximum torque of 70,000 in-lbs. (7,907 NM). Unit has a low torque mode,
controlled from operator's station for use when spinning out in carousel. Air/fluid course is 2-1/2 in. (63.5 mm) dia. equipped with a floating sub to allow smooth drill pipe connecting and a
clamp for attaching wear sub. The stroke of the pulldown and holdback cylinder allows the head to travel 29 ft. (8.8 m) up and down the mast.
Mast and Crown Block:
Constructed of square steel tubing and structural steel electrically welded. Equipped with cable sheaves and guide tracks for tophead rotary which allows tophead to retract off centerline of
hole. Allows 35 ft. (10.6 m) working space above breakout table. Raised and lowered by two (2)hydraulic cylinders. Includes a hinge mounted hydraulic breakout cylinder mounted above
breakout table.
Jib Boom:
Adjustable jib boom for winch cable is mounted on top of mast and is provided with two (2)
hydraulic cylinders for boom extension and boom swing from center of mast to center of rod
box.
Carousel:
Heavy-duty carousel holds six (6) pieces of 4" OD x 20 ft. (6.08 m) drill pipe mounted in
derrick. Carousel is hydraulically controlled for storage in right rear corner of mast and
centerline up with tophead. Indexing is manually controlled from working platforms.
Pulldown/Holdback:
The pulldown holdback system powers the tophead rotary in either the pull down mode or the
holdback mode through the use of heavy-duty cables and a 6 ½" (165 mm) hydraulic cylinder. Pulldown mode provides 25,000 lb. (I 1,340 kg) with a feed rate up to 94 PPM (28.6 mpm).
Holdback mode provides 50,000 lb. (22,680 kg) with a pull out rate up to I 06 PPM (30.4 mpm).
Main Winch:
Hydrostatically driven winch mounted on the mast for the purposes of tripping and pipe handling through the jib boom. Rated working capacity is 25,000 lbs. (11,340 kg) with single¾" (19 mm) line reeving and line speed of 202 PPM (61.4 mpm) on bare drum. Design allows for power-up or power-down.
Second Main Winch:
Hydrostatically driven winch mounted on the mast for heavy casing and pipe handling through crown block. Rated working capacity is 50,000 lbs (22,680 kg) with double¾" (19 mm) line
reeving single sheave block and line speed of 100 PPM (30.5 MPM) on bare drum. Design
allows for power-up or power-down.
Auxiliary Winch:
Hydraulically driven auxiliary winch for handling purposes. Capacity of 2,000 lb single line pull on bare drum with 500 ft of 3/8" cable and hook.
Water Injection Pump:
A hydraulically powered water injection pump, equipped with variable speed control for rated output up to 18 GPM (68 Lpm) and 700 PSI (48.3 bar).
Single Pipe Loader:
A single pipe loader is mounted on the right side of mast. Consists of a holding pod with handwheel on bottom and a guide with safety latch on top. Unit swings from side of mast to center of hole for automatic line up with tophead.
Sliding Breakout Table w/Power Slide Holding Wrench:
Breakout table mounts in rear section of mainframe. Unit retracts hydraulically to allow setting casing up to 20 in. (508 mm) diameter. Equipped with hinged section to allow easy insertion and removal of guide bushings. A sliding wrench is mounted on backside of table for holding drill pipe when breaking out. Bumper stops are integral part of table, which allows various sizes of holding wrenches to be used.
Breakout Wrench:
A modified 60 in. (1,524 mm) pipe wrench attached to breakout cylinder. 8" jaw capacity.
Pipe Spinner:
Hydraulically powered pipe spinner for 4" (I 01 .6 mm) dia. flush joint pipe. Unit is swivel mounted above breakout table, so it can swing out of way. Easy, one-man operation. Can be used to spin in or out.
Pipe Carrying Rack:
Carrying rack with slide mounted on right side of rig. Accommodates 18 pieces of 4" dia. flush joint x 20-ft. (6.08 m) drill pipe. Storage bin mounted below rack with lockable door. Note: Pipe rack may have to be smaller capacity to meet rear axle capacity.
Controls:
All controls and gauges are grouped at the left rear comer of the drill. All controls, valves and gauges are labeled for operator's convenience and safety. Removable and lockable control panel cover is provided.
Lights:
Five (5) shockproof 12-volt, 50 watt halogen lights for the convenience of night time drilling. The system is powered by the truck electrical system with the switch located at the operator's station.
Gear Power Transfer:
Heavy-duty gear type power/gear transfer/pump drive case intersects truck driveline and transfers truck engine power to hydraulic oil pumps. Unit is equipped with pressure lubrication and oil cooler. Air shift control mounted in truck cab.
Mud Pump:Model FD-FXX 5 ½" x 8" (140 mm x 203 mm) 222 GPM, 338 PSI@ 70 SPM (840 LPM, 23.7 bar @ 70 SPM) reciprocating duplex piston type. Hydraulically driven. Slush service (gravel) valves and pistons, 3" (76 mm) discharge piping, type "F" pressure gauge, shear relief valve, surge chamber, liner puller and valve seat puller, grease type packing glands for pump rods. Alternative size liner / piston size 3 ½" (89 mm) supplied with spare parts yields maximum pressure 836 PSI (57.6 bar) @ 84 GPM (318 LPM) @ 70 SPM. Maximum pressure I, 136 PSI (78 bar) fitted 3" (76 mm) liners. 5" x 30' (127 mm x 9.lm) suction hose with strainer and coupler. Mud mixer with jet, hose I ¼" x 25' (32 mm x 7.6 m) and coupler.
Mud Manifold:
Steel piping 2 ½" installed with manifold valves for auxiliary mud system connection. Includes flexible hose at mast bend and top head drive travel to mast stand pipe with hobbles.
Standard Miscellaneous Equipment:
Two (2) spanner wrenches for adjusting tophead packing; and one (I) level for setting up the rig.
Remote Controlled Jib Boom:
Independent controls located opposite operator's station for jib and winch functions.
Engine - Driven Genset:
Liquid cooled diesel (14.5 HP) 10.4 KW engine, genset power range 6,000 Watt (6 KW).
115/230 VAC receptacles, 50 Hz. Large 25 gallon (94.7 L) fuel reservoir and engine safety shutdowns. Industrial muffler and adjustable exhaust pipe fitted. 12-Volt electric start.
